Two-Part Teapot Workshop with Lucy Alexander
Build a Functional Work of Art
$225 | Two 4-hour sessions
In this hands-on workshop, students will learn the art of teapot construction from start to finish. Over the course of two 4-hour sessions, you'll create a complete teapot—body, spout, lid, and handle—using primarily wheel-throwing techniques, with handbuilding options and guidance available for those who prefer or want to explore alternative methods.
In Part One, you’ll focus on throwing and shaping each essential component of your teapot, with demonstrations and instructor support to help you design pieces that work well together both functionally and aesthetically.
In Part Two, you’ll refine, assemble, and attach your parts to create a finished teapot, learning tricks for alignment, trimming, and balance along the way.
Whether you’re a wheel-thrower looking to expand your skills or a handbuilder interested in taking on a new challenge, this workshop offers a supportive space to explore teapot making from every angle. All intermediate to advanced levels welcome. Wheel throwers must be confidant in centering and throwing basics for this workshop.
