Led by the skilled and engaging Robert Abrams, this class is perfect for students of all levels who aspire to master the art of Handbuilding. Whether you're a novice eager to experience the thrill of shaping clay or an experienced potter seeking to refine your technique, this course has something for everyone. Robert, a master of both storytelling and pottery instruction, brings his unique blend of creativity and expertise to the classroom, ensuring a dynamic and enriching learning experience for all.

Throughout the course, Robert will focus on laying a strong foundation in handbuilding fundamentals, covering essential techniques such as pinching, coiling, and slab work along with glazing and other slip and surface decoration techniques. Students are encouraged to reach beyond their comfort zone no matter the skill level. Along with weekly demos, Robert will work one on one with students to help with their projects.

Beginners will benefit from Robert's patient and hands-on approach, as he guides them through the basics and provides personalized instruction to address individual needs.

For intermediate to advanced students, the class will delve deeper into more advanced techniques. One on one guidance and valuable insights from Robert will elevate your individual projects and skills to the next level.

Please note: There will be no Pottery wheel instruction or guidance offered during this class. All instructional focus will be on handbuilding.

Price includes 15 lbs of reclaim clay. All other clay bodies are still available for purchase in studio.

Firing and glazing fees are now sold seperately per piece by volume.

Adult students must have their own tools. Starter tool kits can be purchased on the first day of class at the studio for $25/kit (plus tax).
