B-3 Brown Clay

All clay is for members and students of the studio only. Each 25lb bag of B-3 Brown is $30.68. All clay sold at MVPS also includes a $30 flat rate glaze and firing fee.

A pliable clay with smooth grog. Great for sculpture (use a high gloss glaze when making dinnerware). Color comes from manganese and iron. Fires almost black when in oxidation.

Cone: 5
Wet Color: Red/Brown
Firing Color: Brown/Black
Texture: Slightly Coarse
Avg. Shrinkage 2±%: 10%
Avg. Water Absorption 1±%: 3%

MVPS does not have enough space to stock clay for sale to the public so all clay for sale is reserved for students and members of the studio only. All of our tools and materials are available for purchase in store. Online purchases are only available for the purposes of using a gift card.
